Granny square

Lately I've been working on a granny square.
I didn't realise how frustrating it is to try and design something from scratch.
I wanted to do my own version of a circle in a square.
Here's the first couple of tries

As you can see, the edges will not behave!
 :: sigh ::
After loads more attempts

It's looking a lot more like a grannyish type of square.

Nearly there!
I don't have a YAY moment yet, but it is soon!

I also wanted to show you my car blanket.
I did do a happy dance too.
What I'm loving most about my little car is this.
I don't drive yet, it was a gift from my mum.
So I'm spending my time making bits and bobs to decorate her and make her look lovely (the car that is not my mum, she already looks lovely!)
Any hoo. P's car is in the middle of a huge engine rebuild and he needs a car to travel to work.
You've guessed it! He's using mine!
Tee hee!
A huge burly bloke driving a cute pinky red car complete with pretty blanket, flowery cushions,
and a couple of purple hearts on the back!!!!

I've been feeling a little bit stressed the last couple of days.
Sometimes life is just so big and scary, don't you think?
So in order to cheer myself up, I thought I'd use this post to pop on some of my favorite pics.
I'm going to try and add them in a rainbow order.

And a chilled out little kitty to end!

I can't believe the school holidays are close to the end now. The time has flown by so very fast.
Trying to find things to do, that don't cost a fortune, and are not BORING, is not always easy.
Today though the answer was only 5 mins down the road.
Sometimes I completely forget about what's on our doorstep.

I think it's fantastic that although we live in a fairly large town, there are areas as lovely as this.
I found a lovely spot for P&J to dunk their fishing rods, and for me to sit under a tree and crochet!!!!!
Hope the weather stays good for tomorrow then.

I have been very busy with my crochet car blanket, and have finished it.
For some reason I did not enjoy making this as much as I normally would. It seemed to really drag towards the end.
I'm fairly pleased with the end result, but.............................
I can't put my finger on what I'm not happy about.

I look at the photos and think It's nice but........................
It doesn't make me want to do a happy dance.
I'll have to see what it looks like on the back seat.
I just wanted to add. I can't belive that the local shop has started to sell CHRISTMAS things.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! It's far to early.

J and I had a fantastic day on Wednesday. We went crabbing!!!! It was a first for both of us.
I love being able to spend time with J. I know I haven't got many years left of him wanting to share his time with me, so I cherish every little bit that I do get.

Just sharing in the joy of a lovely afternoon, with my son.

The above and below pic was J's first catch!!!!!

Such a beautiful place to live.

Crochet and burnt waffles

Hello peps!
I've decided to start a new blanket for my car.
Here are the first few squares.

Once again I'm using a pattern from the attic24 blog. .Summer garden garanny square .
It seemed a shame to not use the yarn left over from my granny stripe.
I'll post pics as soon as it is done.

During this mornings crochet session. I find there's always time to squeeze a square or two in before I start any house work! J decided to try and burn the house down.
Cooking waffles in the toaster and watching T.V don't really mix too well.
Here's the result.
I would never have believed that these 3 little waffles could have caused sooooooooooooo much black smoke.
Thankfully everything was ok , no damage, but it really makes you realise how quickly something like that can tun into something horrific.
Be careful everyone
