Star flower.

Hello!
Thank you all so much, for all of your lovely comments!
I was totally overwhelmed. You were all so very kind, hugs to everyone!

I have just joined a blog called The flower bed . It's a flower CAL. You really must pop over and have a look, there is some stunning work happening!
This is the blanket I'm making.
I'm still using Stylecraft, and my trusty 4mm hook.

Here's the pattern.
UK terms throughout.

Round 1: Ch 4 and join to form a ring, 12dc into ring, join with a slst to first dc (12dc)

Round 2: Ch4, slst in same st, * sk1 dc, slst in next dc, ch4, slst in same st*
Rep from *to* 5 times. ( 6 4ch loops)

Round 3:  * (6htr, 3ch, 6htr) into loop, slst into next slst* rep from *to* 6times.
Fasten off.

The petals will bunch up as you work around.

This one is going on my bag.

The pattern for the spiral is super easy.
The ones above are Ch15, 3dc in 2nd ch from hook, then work 4dc in each chain along.

Till next time.

Granny Ripple Ta-dah!

Hello!
I have finished my Granny ripple YAY!!!!!

It's the biggest thing I have made so far. In case you are interested it measures 5ft 2" long by 4ft 6" wide, and is made from Stylecraft, and a no.4 hook.

I'm not sure where it's going to live yet (same as me ha!ha!)

I don't think it's quite right on the sofa.

So it'll probably live on the bed.

That is providing I can claim it back from it's new owner.

Now I'm suffering from E.H.S. (empty hook syndrome!) I guess I could finish off my hexagon blanket.

Till next time.

Nameless hexagon has a name! (PATTERN)

Hello!
As the nameless hexagon was the most popular, it has to be the first pattern I share!!
First it has to be named. I think spring time hexagon sounds okay.

I have used UK terms throughout.
2tr tog = 2dc tog (us)
tr = dc (us)
dtr = tr (us)
yo = yarn over
sp = space
Vst = 1tr,1ch,1tr in same space.
2tr tog =  yo, insert hook in next stitch,  yo, pull through two loops, yo pull through 2 loops, yo, pull through all loops on hook.
dtr = yo twice, pull through loop, 4 loops on hook,yo, pull through 2 loops, 3 loops on hook, yo, pull through 2 loops, 2 loops on hook, yo, pull through last 2 loops.
I hope those instructions are clear!

Ch 4 join to form a ring.
Round 1
(working into ring)
ch2, 1tr.
(2tr tog) 11 times. Join to top of beginning 2 chain.
It's a bit fiddly to get them to all in, but they will fit.
Fasten off neatly.

Round 2
Working out of the tiny space between groups of stitches.

Join new yarn.
ch4 ( counts as 1tr and 1ch sp) 1tr in same sp.
1 Vst in each tiny sp all the way around.

Join to 3rd of beginning 4ch.
Fasten off neatly. ( 12 Vsts)

Round 3.
Working out of the Vs.
Join new yarn.

ch 4 ( counts as 1tr and 1ch sp) 1tr in same sp, ch1.
(1Vst, ch1) in each V all the way around.

Join to 3rd of beginning 4ch.
Fasten off neatly.
12 Vsts separated by 1ch sp.

Round 4.
Working out of the Vsts
Join new yarn.
Ch4 (counts as 1tr and 1 ch sp) 1tr, 1ch, 1Vst 1ch. in same sp.

1 Vst in next V, ch1
(1 Vst, 1ch, 1Vst, ch1) in next V.
1 Vst in next V, ch1
(1Vst, 1ch, 1Vst,1ch) in next V.
1Vst in next V ch1
(1Vst, 1ch,1Vst, 1ch) in next V.

1 Vst in next V, ch1
(1Vst, 1ch, 1Vst, 1ch) in next V
1 Vst in next V , ch1
(1 Vst, 1ch, 1vst, 1ch) in next V.
1 Vst in next V, ch1.
Join to 3rd of beginning 4 ch.
Fasten off neatly.

Round 5
Join new yarn to a corner sp.
Ch 3 ( counts as 1tr) 1dtr, 1tr in same sp.
2tr in next  Vst.
2tr in next 1ch sp.
1tr in next Vst.
2tr in next 1ch sp.

*2tr in  next  V st.
(1tr, 1dtr, 1tr) in next corner sp.
2tr in next Vst.
2tr in next 1ch sp.
1tr in next Vst.
2tr in next 1 ch sp.
2tr in next Vst.*
Rep from *to* 4 more times.
Join to top of beginning 3ch.
Fasten off neatly.

Be careful with your stitches, it's all to easy to miss count.

Oops!

I hope the pattern works, it took an age to sort out! If there are any problems/mistakes, let me know and I'll sort it out.
I'm going to have a cup of coffee.

Till next time.

Distractions

Hello!!
In order to keep my mind off of all the horrible stuff that's going on, I've been making up some new granny squares and hexagons.
Before I show you, I must quickly mention a couple of things.
Firstly, all of the squares and hexagons, are my own design. I haven't reworked an existing pattern or copied someone Else's. IF there is something similar, or the same, then it is purely coincedental. I would be so upset if someone thought I was stealing.
I felt the need to make that clear, because there has been a lot of talk about copywrite recently, over on Ravelry.
So now I have got that off my chest, I'll show you what I have been making!!!

Pretty Petals Granny Square.

Pretty Petals Hexagon

Nameless Granny Square!

Nameless Hexagon!

Spokey Circle Granny Square.

Spokey Circle Hexagon

They need a tiny bit more work, but the patterns are more or less written up. I just need the weather to play nice, so I can take some pics to go with the pattern!

I'm also loving this flower I found in one of my old crochet books

I think it would make a nice shawl if I joined them all together.
Till next time.

Round cushion.

Hello
Thank you all so much, for all your kind words. They really did help. We're no further along finding a new home, I think my worst fear, is that we'll end up in bed and breakfast. The way things are going, that is looking like a scarily real possibility. Trying to find money for a deposit is ridiculously hard. Most of the time we barely have enough money to get through, let alone finding a huge big lump in only 7 weeks!!!

Time, I think to share some nice things!!
I have finished the round cushion.

I've made a hot water bottle cover. I'm going to make a far more colourful one. I didn't want to waste my pretty wool on a practice one, hence the dull colours!!

I've also made a purchase.
Why am I showing you tea towels?
It's not because they are pink and pretty.
It's not because they were a bit of a bargain.
It's because I thought you may be able to help me work something out.

How do I use them to produce agreeable sensations?
Till next time
