GRANNY STRIPE THE END

I'm so sad to have finished my blanket. I've loved working on it.
I'm thinking of a couple of little bits and bobs to keep me busy till I move on to the next BIG project
Happy hooking
xxx
Edited to add:
To answer the question about all the ends, I thought I'd quickly show you mine.
I made sure the knots at the end were really tight. Then before I started the border, I darned in all the ends.
It's got a right and wrong side but I don't think it matters too much.

Goodies

I had forgotten I still had a swap from swapbot still outstanding. This morning it arrived yay!
It's so lovely to get something in the post that you had forgotten about. Did you want to see what arrived?
These......
Aren't they lovely? Sooooo cute!
Lets open them!

Ooooooh!

Ahhhhhhhh!

So thoughtful, because it was only supposed to be one matchbox, but my swap partner sent me two.
I love that something so small can make you happy for the whole day.
On that happy note I shall bid you goodbye for today. xxx

Crochet

When it comes to crafts, crochet is head and shoulders above everything else. I could go on forever telling you about how much I love everything about it.
It wasn't always like that though. For a long while crochet was my Nemesis, my arch enemy!
I loved how it looked, all the colours you could use, but I could not do it.
Several people tried (unsuccessfully) to show me. My mother in law gave up and took my hook away. (with much rolling of eyes)
All I could do was chain. I could do a chain from here to the moon if I had a large enough ball of yarn!
Anyhow. With the help of YouTube video, my yellow practice wool and a leaflet, I succeeded! I'm a SUCCESS!!!!!!!
Now I feel at a loss if I don't get to do some everyday. I need my fix. I'm an addict.
So here's my latest project.
Granny stripe blanket.
I'm just over halfway done in the above photo.
The tutorial can be found here. Lucy has the most fantastic tutorials, and photos. I honestly can't recommend the Attic24 blog enough.
I will post more photos when I get closer to the end. I'm off to hook some more!!

R.I.P little fishy

This morning, I did my usual wander around the garden. (I still can't believe all the things that are growing are form the seeds I planted back in march.) Anyhow I get to the pond only to discover that there is only about an inch of water in the bottom. Not a huge amount for the 30 or so fish that live there! So after lots of panicked setting up of the hose pipe, I manage to start to fill it up again, much to the relief of the fish who are flapping around unhappily in the tiny amount of water left! After I've pulled all of the yucky green stuff out of the waterfall (the cause of all the trouble) and a double frog attack! I am pleased to report that everything is good as new. Well all most, there has been only one fishy death, and one slight bent plant. I think considering, that was a lucky escape. R.I.P little fishy
